The label was founded by Leroy Palmer with the help of his brother Nathan and
label artist Eshjae.
After many months of planning and hard work, along with the help
of Community Roots based in Handsworth, Birmingham, Puttin' It Down Records
was finally launched in August 2002.
Based in the heart of Birmingham, P.I.D. has come a long way from the
first recordings which were created in a rented flat and although
completed on a shoestring budget,
proved extremely popular within the club scene.
Since then P.I.D. has gone from strength to strength.
This year sees the arrival of Eshjae, who has worked extensively with
producer and songwriter L'roy on her debut album, 'life thru my eyez'.
Further acts on the label named Esh and Sugar J will be unleashed very soon.

Esh is a fresh R'n'B singer with smooth vocals, while
Sugar J's flows could test any mc out there and then there's
Eshjae, who brings you sexy soul. |
